GoBe U: Contraindications

GoBe U, contraindications, who can use GoBe U, health restrictions

Written by Maria

GoBe is designed for healthy adults and is not suitable for everyone. Below is a list of situations and conditions where we do not recommend using the GoBe smart band, as well as factors that may affect its accuracy.

GoBe is not recommended for:

  • Pregnant women

  • Children under 18 years old

  • Individuals with medical conditions that can affect:

    • Water-salt balance

    • Cardiovascular function

    • Kidney function

    • Metabolic processes (including but not limited to: diabetes, chronic hepatitis, circulatory issues, obesity, hormonal imbalance)

  • Women experiencing Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), due to potential changes in water retention

Cancer

Having cancer is not in itself a contraindication to using GoBe. However, metabolic processes in the body may function differently in people with cancer, which may reduce the accuracy of the device’s measurements. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of GoBe data in such cases.

Accuracy may be affected by:

  • Acute illnesses, especially with fever above 37°C (98.6°F)

  • Significant deviations from physiological norms, such as:

    • Sleepless nights

    • Jet lag

    • High emotional stress

  • Fasting or strict mono diets

  • Intense or prolonged physical activity (especially anaerobic training or long low-intensity sessions that cause fatigue)

  • Unusual climate conditions:

    • Extremely hot or cold climates

    • High humidity (e.g., tropics)

    • Low humidity or high altitude (e.g., deserts or highlands)

  • In cases of photosensitive epilepsy, the device should be used with caution. GoBe uses LED indicators with a blinking frequency of approximately 1–1.5 times per second, which is theoretically within a safe range. However, the device has not undergone specialized safety testing for individuals with photosensitive epilepsy, so we cannot guarantee the absence of risk.

Allergy information

GoBe does not contain nickel and should not trigger nickel-related skin reactions.

However, if you're allergic to any of the following materials, we do not recommend wearing the device:

  • Case – plastic

  • Electrodes – titanium

  • Strap – silicone with a metallic buckle

Please consult your physician or a qualified healthcare provider if you have any medical concerns before using GoBe, starting a diet, or beginning a fitness program.
