Stress is your body’s natural response to change - whether triggered by positive or negative events. It’s not limited to emotional tension: common causes include travel, changes in routine, or intense physical or mental workload.
When we’re under stress, the body uses up internal resources. If those resources are not replenished through rest and recovery, it can lead to excessive stress, which may cause:
Fatigue
Trouble sleeping
Difficulty concentrating
Lower productivity
Mood swings
How GoBe Measures Stress Levels
Your GoBe smart band helps you monitor how your stress levels change throughout the day. HEALBE classifies five levels of stress intensity, each with its own implications for your well-being:
1. Safe
Almost no stress. No negative effects expected.
2. Light
A mild stress level - still safe. You may notice slight mood fluctuations.
3. Elevated
Common in everyday life: commuting, work, studying. If sustained, Elevated stress may lead to emotional fatigue and reduced focus.
Tip: Regular breaks, sleep, and balanced meals can help reduce its impact.
4. High
Fatigue becomes more pronounced, and performance starts to decline. If experienced for multiple days, it becomes harder to recover.
5. Very High
A potentially harmful level. Long-term exposure may contribute to serious health issues like hormonal imbalances, anxiety, or burnout.
If your stress remains Very High even after rest, we recommend consulting a healthcare professional.
What Is Accumulated Stress?
Accumulated Stress is the total time your body spends in stress levels that drain energy - starting from the Elevated level and up.
GoBe tracks Accumulated Stress to help you understand the overall impact of stress on your health. Surprisingly, frequent low-to-moderate stress can be more harmful than occasional high spikes, because:
It quietly depletes your energy reserves
It’s easy to ignore or normalize
It may reduce your resilience to future stress
A tired or unbalanced body might respond to regular Elevated stress as if it were High or Very High.
