HEALBE GoBe2 measures heart rate with the help of a piezoelectric sensor, which is most accurate when determining heart rate at rest.
The heart rate at rest can be read incorrectly due to any fidgeting or flexing of the hand wearing GoBe2.
When you are sitting or lying down, your heart rate is usually lower. However, flexing your hand and\or fidgeting with it will cause the heart rate to go up in this particular body part which will interference with the piezoelectric sensor. This sort of inaccuracy will is visible in all medical devices, e.g. blood pressure meters.
As your move your hand and GoBe2 measures your heart rate from the patch of skin that comes in contact with the sensor, the algorithm will assume that you are fully active, causing the heart rate to appear higher than it actually is.
If you suspect that your heart rate measurement is incorrect, please relax and do not move for 15-20 seconds.
Please make sure that you haven't done any physical activity just before returning to the sitting position, as your heart rate needs some time to slow down. Once the heart icon is filled, the pulse will be correct again.
Then, please measure your heart rate by checking your pulse. Place your index and third fingers on your neck to the side of your windpipe. To check your pulse at your wrist, place two fingers between the bone and the tendon over your radial artery — which is located on the thumb side of your wrist.
When you feel your pulse, count the number of beats in 15 seconds. Multiply this number by four to calculate your beats per minute and let us know if it's any different from the heart rate number you see on GoBe's display at the same time.
